Our Love is... [Engagement Session]

Had such a fun engagement shoot a couple weeks ago!  You know how photographers all have that "shoot that transformed them??"  Well, this was definitely a transforming shoot for my engagement work. I had been waiting, plotting, and dreaming of the perfect shoot: then Ericka emailed me!  She was a little hesitant about a styled shoot, so I told her to meet me at the train and left the rest a secret...

Our Love Is...

Can you tell they are IN LOVE yet?

What's a photoshoot without some personal touches? :)

I think they really enjoyed the "snack break"

This was my favorite portion of the shoot- not because it was styled so well (cough cough), or because I love photo booth props, but because they laughed through every second and I could really see how in love they are!

Love is so grand, yet so simple at times.  I am so grateful to have met this lovely couple and wish them all the luck in the world together!

As we came to the end of the shoot, the bride said, "this shoot was TOTALLY us!"  Score one for the home team!  Followed by the groom saying "I was not that excited about coming, but I can't believe how much fun I had!"  Out of the park!  I was so flattered and excited, since that's what I was going for and this was the first time I had ever met them in person.  Amazingly fun shoot with a great couple!!

Looking to book a shoot?  NOW IS THE TIME!  June 1st our prices go up, so don't miss out on your opportunity to book at these prices!  We love photography and dedicate so much time and thought into each shoot to make it you and make it special!

Have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

Sugar & Spice, & Everything Nice...

That's what this little girl is made of!!  So this mom called me a couple months ago saying she would LOVE a shoot with me!  I was so flattered, not only because she said she is amazed by my work (sigh) but because her father is one of my fav photogs (saulo photography)!  What an honor! :)
Well, let me introduce you to little Ms Rosie Cheeks:

Isn't she ADORABLE?!

Well, in true Looky Loo fashion, we started the shoot off with a tea party, of course!  Because, as you know, every girl shoot should start with a tea party and end with a curtsy!
(we're all a little mad after all- right??)

Then bring on the flowers!!

I still refuse to believe dandelions could possibly be weeds- they are so amazing and lovely and care-free!  (I really was never into science... at all)

Next, we were on to the urban/edgy portion of the shoot... I know, you're scratching your head right now and trying to put Looky Loo and edgy in the same sentence?? What the What?
Well, this is Dad's style and his personal touch to the session, and.. turns out, I LOVED IT!  So you can count on a little more edge from Looky Loo in the future!  (stop sweating- I said a little, we will always stay  true to our antique/quirky feel, just a little something extra)

Speaking of antique, what could be more antique than a bonnet in the tall grass????? NOTHING I tell you, Nothing!  It doesn't get more old-fashioned and "i just walked across the plains" than that!  Here is Ms. Rosie Cheeks the Pioneer Woman! ;)

And the piece de resistance:

Yeah, I know, nothing could possibly be more cute than a girl at a vanity, except of course if that girl is in a petti romper (new prop of mine) and her mother's shoes!  AHHHH, LiFe is GOOD!

Well, in closing, I must thank Little Ms Rosie Cheeks for her major cuteness!  I hope you all enjoyed this small trip through Paso with us!

Blog the Blog

As some of you may know, I take every opportunity I can to learn and grow in the photography industry. However, doing so can be very expensive.  So I always love when an opportunity to win a chance to learn and grow presents itself.  And, today, the opportunity came in the form of a giveaway via CRAVE photography.  I should tell you, Crave is one of my favorite places to go for photography inspiration.  While most of the time I like to come up with my own inventive new ideas, sometimes I hit a block and have to go check out what the "big guys" are doing.  Crave is one of those sites I go to.  She is amazing and SO sweet!  Go check her out on Facebook here: Crave Photography  Then, go check out the amazing giveaway she is having on her blog- most of it is for photographers, but there are some other fun things on there as well.  For me, the lens and the one-on-one workshop would be a dream come true!!  Here's the link: Crave Giveaway!
Are you craving a giveaway??  Don't worry, Look Loo is prepping for the biggest month of the year for us: TUNE INTO JUNE!!  We will have plenty of giveaways (if you are a vendor and want to give something away, just email me), lots of new happenings, and some other fun tips/tricks ALL MONTH LONG!!!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Happy Mother's Day to YOU!

Here are a collection of pictures from our lovely Mother's Day Little Looky!  Please enjoy!

"No language can express the power, and beauty, and heroism, and majesty of a mother's love.  It shrinks not where man cowers, and grows stronger where man faints, and over wastes of worldly fortunes sends the radiance of its quenchless fidelity like a star."  ~Edwin Hubbell Chapin

“There is no role in life more essential and more eternal than that of motherhood,” says Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie."  ~Tenneva Jordan

Elder Holland says, “May I say to mothers collectively, in the name of the Lord, you are magnificent. You are doing terrifically well. The very fact that you have been given such a responsibility is everlasting evidence of the trust your Father in Heaven has in you.”

"The phrase "working mother" is redundant."  ~Jane Sellman

"Among the blessings of each of our lives, mothers should hold a special place of honor, President Thomas S. Monson says. 'Mother, who willingly made that personal journey into the valley of the shadow of death to give us birth, deserves our undying gratitude.'”

"I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me.  They have clung to me all my life."  ~Abraham Lincoln

"No matter what you read or hear, no matter what the differences of circumstances you observe in the lives of women about you, it is important for you to understand that the Lord holds motherhood and mothers sacred and in the highest esteem."  President Kimball

She never quite leaves her children at home, even when she doesn't take them along.  ~Margaret Culkin Banning

Happy Mother's Day to all of you women out there!  Whether or not you have had the privilege of bearing a child, through your sweet tenderness as a woman, you have touched the life of a child, and that also is worth recognizing on this day!  Women hold the future generations by the hand and guide them through love and devotion, and for that I am grateful!  I am so grateful for the women in my life who have guided me, believed in me, and nurtured me- without them I would not be where I am today- a joyful mother of two amazing boys and a wife to the most wonderful man I know. Once again, Happy Mother's Day from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you have enjoyed my little post dedicated to the women of the world!!
