Happy Mother's Day To Me!

So, a couple months ago, when the blossoms were blooming and the grass was green, I decided I wanted my own styled shoot.  I have had so much fun setting these up for other people, but was yearning for my own little family to have a picture that was more representative of us- fun, bold, and of course, matchy-matchy! :)

Since I had been so busy taking pictures for others in the blossoms, we were a little late- so you'll just have to pretend with me that these trees are filled to the brim with pink blossoms! ;)

My boys are such troopers!  They willingly wore these bow-ties I made, and even my sweet husband donned some pink!  :)

When your name is Calvin you have 1 of 2 choices- embrace your comic name-sake, or ignore that pet Tiger that's begging to get you in trouble.  Well, our Calvin does #1- he reads this book every night!

I LOVE my boys- they are my WHOLE WORLD.  I mentioned on the fan-page yesterday that I love my job as a photographer, but, I must admit that no job compares to the passion and love I have for being a mom! :)

A few family favorites!

I'm starting to get concerned that Boston has an unhealthy addiction to Brown Bear... He has me read it OVER and Over and over!  He even has Brown Bear shoes! :)  I will, however, take partial blame for this obsession, since I have silly and ridiculous voices to go with each character ( my husband threatens to commit me when he hears them- but, the joy on Boston's face is worth any reference to crazy!)

THIS is B-Town to me.. He secretly 100% believes he is a dinosaur!

Calvin is ever the gentleman- he loves to pick flowers, open doors, and growl.  (we're working on the last one)

My name is Cindy, and I am addicted to Bow-Tie Cuteness... Now that I know how to make them I feel my boys should have them in every color- that's normal, right??

Thank you for sharing a little piece of my Mother's Day with me!  I love my family!  I could not ask for 3 better men in my life that these 3!

Just Your Neighborhood Headstone Collection

A couple weeks ago, Jeff and I pulled up to this BEAUTIFUL home and property for a lovely Reunion Shoot.  As we walked around, looking for inspiration, we came across some beautiful grasslands, old fencing, tractors, and HEADSTONES scattered around...  But, we'll get to that later..

Meet the [W] Family

I just loved the open pastures, old fencing and the green all around!  Although, I could have done without the wind.. but, alas, such is life I guess!

Ok, so after snapping a few family shots, I had to ask... WHAT is with the assortment of scattered gravestones?!?  Well, it turns out that the previous owner was a gravestone maker, and when he messed up, he just tossed it aside!  The family also went on to tell me that their daughter-in-law is an actress and her latest role was in a ZOMBIE MOVIE. WHAT?  Next stop: Zombie/headstone shot!!

(I know, I have WAY too much fun on my shoots.. but, can you blame me?  Who could resist!)

Back to the present- non-zombie pictures of this lovely family:

What boy doesn't love a good tractor pose!  I tried to get the girls in on it, too- but they were more the flower-power type!  Girls after my own heart! :)

In fact, this little beauty below even began picking flowers for me, and was having so much fun on our little adventure that she forgot we were taking pictures and just climbed up into my lap!  Cutest.Thing.Ever!

I just LOVED all of the colors and textures around!

Of course, if you know me, the serious-ness was interrupted again by some fun:

A little Kung-Fu Time out is always good!

All-in-all a fun shoot with a fun family!  It was so great to meet you and capture your lovely smiles!  I hope you enjoyed your tour through this lovely property in San Luis Obispo.  Feel free to leave a comment of love! :)

Stay tuned- I have a lot of posts to catch up on!!

Thanks for taking a time out to go Looky Loo!!

Grandma Looky Loo

My Grandma decided to spend the winter in the beautiful California weather- escaping the cold of Idaho.  So, while she was here basking in the sun, my Mom asked me to do a shoot with her.  She picked a lovely location with beach views, huge trees, and rock-islands.  My Grandma was a trooper- check it out:
She even brought her pup, Penny for some pics!  (Can you tell she's my Grandma now---
it's the skinnier, darker version of Lola!)

For the tree pose, I told my Grandma to give me a little Sass- not bad!  :)

I just LOVED these bare trees next to that beautiful view!

 Some more sass..

We then headed to another beach for some rocky landscape... On a random side note,
WHY is it called Shell Beach if there are NO shells (my son was really
disappointed!)

Another SUPER TROOPER moment from Grandma: she had to RUN to
this rock while the water was out and jump on before the waves came crashing
down and surrounded her with water!  No, not your average Grandma! ;)

Well, I hope you enjoyed your travel through my Grandma's beach adventure!
It's nice to spend time with those who came before you and get an appreciation
for your heritage while it is still here!  Stay tuned, I have another beach shoot coming up
this weekend and a beachy maternity session to post later on today!  Oh, for the love of
PHOTOGRAPHY! ;)

Little Man, Big Headshots

So, a few weeks ago, a sweet mom contacted me wanting headshots of her sweet little boy for his agent.  I assumed he was a cute kid, but it wasn't until I checked out her Facebook and saw for myself that he is, indeed, BEAUTIFUL!  I was immediately excited for this upcoming shoot!  She said that she also wanted to throw in some of her little girl, as well.  So, of course, with one beauty in the family, I thought to myself, poor little girl, she has to live in the shadow of her amazing little brother.  But, once again, I looked at the pictures online and was amazed.  The girl was also BEAUTIFUL!  We then picked a quiet, Los Osos setting and I began planning out my shoot with these two beautiful children.
Here are the headshots of Little Mr. Beautiful:  (sorry, I know that beautiful is not usually a masculine term, but I think you'll agree that it is so fitting for that skin, eyes, and of course hair)

Little Mr. Beautiful was shy, so it took a quick game of peek-a-boo to warm him up! (quite possibly followed by some of my delicious cookies-but you'll just have to book your own session to see more about that!)

I just fell in love with every little side-glance, smirk, and crooked-smile he gave!
Then, there was his beautiful older sister!  (who, by the way, needed no gimmicks to
warm up- she's just a happy-go-lucky & outgoing kind of girl!)

Starting off with some tree climbing and a red parasol didn't hurt!

Little Ms Beautiful was full of spunk and enjoyed finding her own spots and own poses- which I think turned out SO cute!  I love a girl who knows what she wants! ;)

All-in-all it was a fabulous way to spend an afternoon!  Good luck to Little Mr Beautiful in all of his endeavors- who wouldn't love that face?!

I hope you enjoyed this trip through my Los Osos photoshoot!  Let me know what you think!  Thanks a ton!  And, as my three-year-old would say, "Say Cheese!"
