HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

It's HALLOWEEN!

YESSSSSSSSSS!!

If you know me, you know I LOVE Halloween!!  I LOVE themes and I LOVE to dress up!  It's just a fun excuse to be your child-self once a year and dress up as fun characters while eating candy to your heart's content.  Who wouldn't love it, REALLY?!

So, in honor of this great holiday (which, I feel, should be a national holiday, but that's a whole other topic), I wanted to give you insight into the McCauley Halloweens over the years:

Year One:

 Peter Pan & Tinker Bell

YEAR TWO:

 Cowboy/girl

Mr & Mrs Dracula

YEAR THREE:

We're off to see the wizard!

YEAR FOUR:

Mario & Yoshi

YEAR FIVE:

 Buzz&Woody

 Star Wars!

YEAR SIX!

 AVENGERS!

Calvin&Hobbes

What will we do tonight???  It's anyone's guess!

What are you dressing up as!?  Do you do themes, too?  Do you like to change up your costumes to each event?  I hope you have enjoyed this trip down Halloween memory lane!

Now, GO GET YOUR 'GUISE ON!

Monday MUST!

HELLOOOOO Little Loves!!

It's ME!!  I know, I've been preoccupied for SO long now, that I'm sure you've forgotten all about the joys and fun found here at Looky Loo!  Well, I've found a few spare minutes, and I vow to be back at it and not so fully neglect you.... for now!  As you know, my family comes first- and then the pictures- and THEN the blog.  Don't worry, I will slowly be adding in blog posts to update you on all of the wonderful pictures I have been taking in my absence!!

But, for now, it's time for MONDAY MUST!!  (sweet/fun image to come)

WHAT is Monday Must??!!

Well, Monday Must is where I blabber on all about some Must-have, Must-do, Must-see, or Must-whatever that is tumbling around in this crazy head of mine.

Anything from clothing to site-seeing, THIS is the place where you will see my latest MUSTS- each and every Monday!

And this Monday, we are REALLY kicking it off Halloween style:

MUST-GO Pumpkin Farm!!

Ok, so, as a disclaimer, I LOVE Halloween!  I LOVE to dress up, I LOVE to decorate, I LOVE black, I LOVE excuses to take treats to people, and I LOVE to dress up!  (yes, that required on encore)  Pretty much the only thing I don't like about Halloween is candy... WHAT?!  STOP RIGHT THERE LOOKY LOO, YOU ARE C-A-R-A-Z-Y!

..I get that a lot..

I know, but alas, I'm allergic to chocolate and hate things that stick to my teeth, so that doesn't leave a lot of candy left.  But, before you totally die or stop reading of heart-ache for me- there are a lot of other treats that I adore, pumpkin being one of them- so, I'm fine! ;)

ANYWHO, back to the matter at hand- Pumpkin Farms!  Last year, upon trekking the 101, I came across the MOST AMAZING PUMPKIN FARM EVERRR!

Today's MONDAY-MUST is:

SAN MARCOS RANCH!

Not only do they have TONS of Pumpkins in their pumpkin patch... yes, you can pick your own pumpkin... BUT, they have LOADS of fun things for the kiddos and JAW DROPPING scenery!  Definitely a crowd pleaser and fun for the whole family!  In fact, that is where my family pictures will be this year- I know, I'm obsessed!  But, when I'm into something, I LOVE IT!  Whole-heartedly!

Ok, Ok, check it out for yourself if you don't believe me:

Pumpkins, check!

Kid fun, Triple check!  (there are also bounce  houses, corn maze, haunted-ness, etc)

Train car, check!

SCENERY???  Well, you get the idea...

Ok, so here's the deal- free to get in, free to walk around and a few bucks here and there for the kid activities- really, amazing!

AND, even better- if you are like me (car-less and hubby mia from 6am-9pm) and don't have any possible way to get your tush on over before Halloween, HAVE NO FEAR!  They will be open through November!!  SWEET!  I seriously love this place!  I even went to prom here as a high schooler, just to give you an even further testimonial to the beauty! :)

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my Halloween dose of Monday-Must

What is your MUST this week??!

Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned later this week for Tinker Tuesday and Photo Friday!

xoxo,

Prior Family Fundraiser Photoshoot

Hello my sweet Looky Loo Fans.  Today I write to you with heartbreaking news.  My friend, and fellow photographer, Mike Prior, lost his wife this week unexpectedly.  She left behind, not only her sweet husband, but 5 children ages 5 and under- including infant twin boys.  My heart broke when I heard the tragic news.  I could not believe that this possibly happened.

I immediately decided I MUST do something to help.  I mentally went through my list of resources and possibilities and quickly came up with a fundraiser idea.  Local photographers offering as many mini shoots as we can and donating all of the proceeds to the Prior family.  Now the hard part: contact my fellow photographers who don't know Mike and ask them to join the cause.  WITHOUT HESITATION all 3 of these AMAZING photographers were willing to donate their time, talents, and expertise to the cause. THANK YOU: Melissa Janice, and Saulo!!  You guys rock!  I am so touched at your generosity and willingness to help- I seriously cannot say enough good things about these fellow photographers!

Here is where you come in:

Book a shoot with one of us for
Wednesday, August 22nd from 6-8
15 minute slots
5 edited images
By donation ($50 min)
100% of the proceeds will go to the Prior
family in their time of need

We all have times in our lives where we must rely on those around us to help us pick ourselves up and carry on.  Even if you don't know the Priors, I'm sure you can sympathize with the pains of this sweet little family.  My goal is to book up all 36 slots, giving them a minimum of $1800!  Many hands make light loads.  Please help us in this wonderful cause!

I appreciate all of my wonderful fans!!

All our love to you, Prior family!

xoxo,
Loo Who

Friday Photo Fix

Hey guys!  We are so happy to announce our latest addition: FRIDAY Photo Fix with PALOMA&CINDY!  Every week one of us will give you tips, tricks, advice or random ramblings, hopefully having something to do with photography.  Send us your questions and we will answer them here!  This week, we are happy to hear from Paloma!  Paloma is our newest stylist and will be giving you tips, tricks, and ideas on how to fashion your shoot!!  She's bringing some spice and flavor to Looky Loo and we are SO excited to have her!  Without further ado, here is Ms Paloma with this Friday's edition:

LACE UP!

One trend I am LOVING right now, is lace!  Cindy recently talked about adding texture to your pictures through your outfit.  Lace gives you texture, mood and elegance all in one piece!  But how do you make lace fit into your wardrobe?  Let me show you how to use your own closet to transform your look.  You can ALWAYS shop in your own closet and still get a trendy look.  Today, we are shopping for lace!

First up- you have some white lace dresses, but you don't want to look like you are walking down the aisle.  Quick fix: add a dark color, with your jacket or shoes to quickly go from bridal beauty to everyday chic!

Now, what do you do with that vintage lace top you have hanging around?  Pair with a bright trendy skirt.  Add a belt, some tan pumps and some light accessories and TADA!

So, you are doing a shoot with a certain feel and want to incorporate lace.. now what?  Here is an example of how with the right accessories you can transform the lacey dress into boho chic.

What did she do:  add essential boho accessories- dreamcatcher necklace, feathers, turquoise, and boots.  You could even complete the look with a dark floppy hat.  Lace is not only for the classic look anymore, ladies!

Try something new!  I love this lace top, but I'm not in love with how she used it.  Think outside the box, open your color pallet to more than just black and white.  I would pair this white lace top with skinny jeans, a vintage colored top (maybe in light turquoise or a soft mauve), tan pumps, a belt, and gold accessories.  Dress down the look by trading out your pumps for flats and use less jewelry.

Simple spice up: Try lace in a color.  Feel like it's a little too risky?  Throw a simple tank underneath.

Too Spicy: Neon lace.  I know, I know, neon is huge right now.  Don't lose the glam and elegance altogether stick to basic colors for your lace, using accessories to add punch and spice!

Dare to be pretty, be feminine, make it you!  Lace is ageless, timeless and can fit any style!
Here are a few more pictures of lacey things I love to keep you inspired until next Friday!
